The strategy to double the turnover seems to succeed with record speed. Late in 2010 we agreed to have a new strategy to double up the turnover over the next three years – we made it in only one year, says a very satisfied CEO Mr. Peter Overgaard.
Aalborg Engineering continues the positive line from the past years. The result of 18.4 million DKK before tax seems to be the best result in the company's history and it fully meets our expectations and must be seen as very satisfactory.
"It was our strategy to double the turnover to around 400 million DKK over the next three years, but already after this year we seem to have achieved our goal. The order intake has been record high and close to 700 million DKK. This means that by the end of 2011 we had more than half a billion DKK in our backlog and jobs seem to be secured far into 2013. Last year it was with great pleasure, that we were able to go into 2011 with around 200 million DKK in the backlog, therefore this result is very overwhelming" CEO Mr. Peter Overgaard says. At the same time the large increase in turnover means that we soon will be able to pass employee number 100.
Aalborg Engineering specializes in sales and design of boiler plants, while the production mainly is subcontracted abroad. Due to that it is mostly engineers, technicians and administration which are employed at the officers in Aalborg and in Levice, Slovakia.
"Within the last week we have also succeeded with another part of our strategy, as we have had the luck to get into the Russian market with a sale to E4 group. The E4 group is going to build a natural gas power plant in Belarus and we are chosen to deliver the steam generator. This new order means a lot to us, as this order can be seen as a result of a massive preparation of a new market. For a while we have tried to get into the Russian market and among other things we have been participating in a promotion offensive together with the Royal family and Ministry of Foreign Affairs DBDH – Danish Board of District Heating. "The order which has a value of 50 million DKK is not one of our largest orders, but it has a special value for us" Peter Overgaard underlines and he continues: "We have been working very hard to get a third leg-strategy and with this ordre we are on our way to fulfill this strategy".
"We are very busy and under a heavy workload, however it is absolutely a positive problem in these days. We are determined not to fall into the growth trap and thus suffocate in our own success. Therefore we focus on this issue and we have initiated a number of actions to secure optimal work environments in the company. Our primary goal is to carry through our projects within deadline, economy and quality. All the time we are thriving to improve ourselves in these areas in order to minimize the number of projects that turn out the wrong way" CEO Peter Overgaard ends.
