|Aalborg Engineering A/S Keeps Generating Efficient and Climate Friendly Steam, now in Poland|
By CEO, Mr. Ole Røsdahl Aalborg Engineering A/S
Aalborg Engineering has secured a new contract valued more than 100 mio. DKK to the growing Polish energy market. Together with our local partner Control Process we have been selected, as supplier of two new boiler installations. The customer has in their evaluation focused on speed of delivery, the efficiency and environmental impact of the project. We are therefore pleased to be selected on this basis says Mr. Røsdahl. The client Tameh is a joint venture between Tauron and Arcelor Mittal. Tauron is Polish utility power producer and Arcelor Mittal is one of the largest steel producers in the world.
The project consists of two SteamGenTM 4 boilers which are firing waste gasses from the steel mill. These gasses, Blast Furnace Gas and Coke Oven Gas, would alternatively be burned into the atmosphere without any utilisation of the energy. The technical data of the two high pressure steam boilers are 150 t/h, 92 bara and 540 C.
“At Aalborg Engineering we are pleased to win this contract. With this project we are entering a new and growing market for waste gas combustion. There are more similar projects in the pipeline, together with many of the more traditional projects for Aalborg Engineering.”, concludes Mr. Røsdahl.
With focus on achieving the most environmental friendly solution, both the owner Tameh, and the consortium with Aalborg Engineering and Control Process have developed this solution, with the aim to be an example to follow. All efforts possible have been used to find the right combination of efficient waste gas consumption and low emissions. The final project is designed for scenarios including both high availability and an optimised overall concept. As the project will be installed in an existing building also this task requires the best planning and efficiency.
The project is handled in a consortium with Aalborg Engineering and Control Process SA from Poland. Control Process is a leading local technology and contractor company in Krakow.
The project installation will commence in 2017 and commercial operation is expected in 2018.
