A new product ensures Aalborg Engineering record order of 200 million DKK Aalborg Engineering transforms waste product to electricity which on a yearly basis can provide 160.000 households with electricity. A new product...
Aalborg Engineering transforms waste product to electricity which on a yearly basis can provide 160.000 households with electricity. At the moment the heat in the flue gas from the Norwegian company Finnfjord production process is not utilised at all and it is wasted directly to the birds. When Aalborg Engineering in 2 years has finalised the installation of two heat recovery steam generators, the flue gas will be transformed into 224 GWh, which is equal to the electricity consumption of 160.000 Danish households and a saving of 250.000 ton CO2 is obtained compared to if the electricity was produced on coal. “We are very pleased to have this record order of 200 million DKK particularly because SteamGen 10 is a new boiler product with no references. This order is the biggest in the company’s 10 years history and it will contribute to create even bigger growth for Aalborg Engineering. We have currently a backlog of half a billion DKK” says CEO Peter Overgaard, Aalborg Engineering.
CEO, Peter Overgaard
Our supply is a part of a large project for energy optimization with a total investment of 512 million NOK. The project is partly subsidies with 175 million NOK from the Norwegian government as a step towards converting to green energy and achieving energy efficiency. On top of the electricity production the plant will supply 125 GWh process heat to a planned new Bio-Pellet-production close to Finnfjord. -We do have great expectations to this new product as many international companies have high energy consuming productions processes which create hot flue gasses that for now are wasted - this is not optimal neither from an economical nor an environmental view. We have high focus on the environment and we are focusing on developing high effective boiler plants, continues Peter Overgaard.
This SteamGen10 heat recovery steam-plant will within 2 years be installed at Finnfjord and it will transform fuel gas from waste product in to electricity and process heat
-We have spent several years developing SteamGen 10 based on our internal know how and we have in the past been in dialogue with another large Norwegian company who was interested in a similar plant with equivalent specifications. We therefore had a good feeling about being competitive. Finnfjord is one of the leading producers of ferrosilicon (FeSi) in Europe, which is an important ingredient in steel production. Finn fjord was founded in 1983 and its output represents 15 % of total FeSi demands from the European steel industry.
